Good news is, my mom is seriously considering getting a dog.

Dogs
I just watched Marley & Me for the second time. I cried at the end. Again. Not ashamed of that. I'm sure that anyone else who has had a dog before can relate. Boomer, my childhood dog, was also a yellow lab. Reminded me a lot of the dog from Marley & Me.

I don't know what to say. I didn't even really know Kal that well. He stayed at my place once when we were hosting Huckfest this past year and I got the chance to talk to him for a little while while the rest of his team was across the street at the jacuzi. We didn't talk about much, but even in that small amount of time I could tell what an amazing person he was. This is all such a tragedy. I'm still in shock.
Rest in peace Kalgin.

Potlatch
This past weekend was my first taste of Potlatch. And man I want more of it. I hope to go as many times as I can in the future.
In any case, here are a few thoughts I wanted to jot down before I forget them. Hopefully I'll get a chance to expand on these later.
- Playing cards on the flight up with Sara and Allen.
- Staying at Casey Ikeda's place in Seattle Thursday night. It is super awesome how much his parents support his Ultimate. Apparently the entire Seattle community is like that. Amazing.
- Going 7-2 on the tournament. Starting in the C bracket and ending up in the B bracket somewhere between 17th and 24th overall.
- Having our last game against friends from UCLA (awesome way to end it, even if we did lose... not that anyone was really taking it seriously anyways)
- KG's Octobong
- Bravehard's Castle and 20ft beer bong
- Camping at the fields for 3 days with 2000 other people.
- The river. Even though I did slice open my toe on a rock Saturday afternoon.
- The party. With unlimited (almost) good beer and salmon. Definitely nice to have that last round bye as we only had to wait 45 minutes for food instead of the rest of the party who had to wait upwards of 3 hours.
- Playing with friends (new and old).
- Roeder's Runners
- And so many other things I'm forgetting right now that I will hopefully recall after checking out Steve's video.
All in all, Potlatch '09 was probably the most fun I've ever had at an Ultimate tournament... ever really. I only hope that I can continue to attend this amazing tournament in the future. Roeder's Runners 2.0 anyone?
